What do you usually do with your used coffee grounds? Do you just toss them out your window? Do you simply throw them in the trash?  Do you simply leave them in your garbage disposal?

Well, that should not be the case. For those who don’t know, your coffee experience does not have to end with the final sip of your cup. Those used coffee grounds still have various purposes.

There are a lot of things you can do with your used coffee grounds. The truth is that most cafe McKinney shops sell bags of used coffee grounds to people who need them.

Here are a couple of things you can do with your coffee waste:

Fertilize Your Plant

All you need to do is to add the used coffee grounds to the surface of your plant’s soil. The smell will be annoying for a couple of insects and cats. If you water the plants first before adding the coffee grounds, the effect will last longer.

Coffee is also an excellent fertilizer for all of your plants.

Stimulate Your Skin

Coffee is also an ideal stimulation for your skin. All you need to do is to combine 1 tablespoon of water and 1 tablespoon of used coffee grounds. You’ll see the difference in your skin in no time.

Exfoliant

Used coffee grounds are also an ideal natural exfoliant for your skin. The reason for this is that it helps get rid of dead skin cells. All you need to do is to follow the same mixture mentioned above. Then, delicately massage the mixture in circles on your skin. Once you’re done, you’ll notice that your skin will be much softer than before.

Coffee Candles

Do you like making candles? If so, you should consider using coffee grounds as an ingredient. Compared to aromatic oils, used coffee grounds smell a lot more authentic. In addition to that, they look good if you use them in layers.

The used coffee grounds become exposed as the candle burns down. Once the heat reaches the coffee grounds, it will release a rich coffee aroma.

Pest Repellant

Most pests do not like the intense aromas and acids of coffee grounds. Because of this, you can use coffee grounds to your advantage in several ways.

First, spread a 1-inch-thick line around areas where you see ants. This will prevent them from venturing into your house. You will want to replace this line with some fresh coffee grounds every 14 days.

You can also prevent slugs and snails from invading your garden by simply spreading used coffee grounds around your plants. Snails and slugs aren’t fond of coffee. Thus, a gentle sprinkling or a thin line will work just fine in preventing infestation.

You can also use coffee grounds to get rid of fleas from your pets. You can use coffee grounds to wash your pet. However, make sure you do this outside. In addition to that, don’t forget to rinse your pet after washing them with coffee grounds. If you don’t, your dog will smell like coffee.
